I’ve known Richard since August of 2006 when he applied to our group to adopt his first greyhound.  He ended up adopting a greyhound named Will that had been in a home and returned to our group.  Will was 6 years old at the time; most people will shy away from adopting a 6 year old dog.  I think the fact that Richard adopted Will at age 6 said a lot about Richard and his love of dogs.

Sadly Richard lost Will to cancer and he has adopted a second greyhound from us.  A cute little girl named Ellie.

Since Richard is now retired he has also become more involved with our group and is now one of our foster homes.  Again he surprised me with his willingness to take on a special needs greyhound as his very first foster.   His first foster boy is a very shy guy, but luckily for him he has Richard and Ellie to show him the ropes of life after racing.

I was very happy when Richard told me he was going to start a pet sitting business.  I am very particular about whom I would allow to care for my beloved greyhounds and I would not hesitate to hire Richard to take care of them.

If you want someone that will truly take the very best care of your pets, then you have found the right man.

 To Whom It May Concern,

Richard “Dick” Foster has been a wonderful neighbor and friend to my family and me for over 20 years.  He is a remarkable person in many ways, especially for his devotion to all of the dogs that he has owned and cared for.  Very few people have the natural affinity for dogs that Dick Foster has. Dogs and people seem take to him very easily. There is a saying, “Dogs are people too.”  Dick treats animals very much like people, with care, respect, and love. I would have to say that there is no one who loves and takes great care of dogs quite the way that he does.

As someone who loves all animals, I cannot think of anyone that I would feel more comfortable to have watching my dog than Dick Foster.  He watched my own dog, Emmy, a gentle and loving Border Collie mix that passed away last fall.  Dick Foster was always there to watch our Emmy whenever we went on vacation for the past 13 years. Emmy would always run straight to him whenever she saw him outside.  My family always knew that Emmy was, in the truest sense, on her own vacation when she was with Dick and his dogs.  We will be getting another dog very soon.  I cannot think of anyone else that I would want to watch our dog than Dick Foster.  I smiled when Dick recently told me that he would be starting a dog “sitting” business upon his retirement.  This seems most natural, and I recommend him without reservation as an outstanding dog care provider.

Sincerely,

Richard has been a friend of ours for many years and has been caring for our 4 cats and saltwater aquarium when we are unable to. Every time we go on vacation Richard has always been glad to help us out feeding and taking care of our pets. He has our house key and we simply have to let him know of our absence and we know our loved ones are in good hands with Richard.
